‘There’s somebody out there rooting for them’: Survivors’ salon supports women with gynecological cancers
Sue Sigmon-Nosach works inside The Pretty Place Friday, March 24, 2023, at North Georgia Physicians Group Gynecologic Oncology. With the help of the NGHS Foundation and a local organization called The Partnership for Gynecological Cancer Support, NGPG Gynecologic Oncology has created The Pretty Place, a spa-themed room in its facility designed for women who are either uninsured, underinsured or their coverage simply doesn’t allow for extraneous cancer support items. The new service provides a free wig and/or head wrap to women undergoing treatment and, with the support of a local cosmetology school, offers free eyebrow draw-ons. – photo by Scott Rogers
